Maaspoort in Venlo welcomes Venlo residents and visitors to its Scheuten rooftop bar starting Saturday, July 13. This rooftop terrace is a unique location because of its beautiful view of the Maas River and Venlo's city center. Until at least September, the rooftop terrace will be open every weekend, on Saturday evenings from four to eleven, on Sunday afternoons from two to eight.
Leon Thommassen, director-director: "Maaspoort is there for everyone. That's why we are always looking for even greater accessibility for all target groups. Earlier we already made performances for children up to 12 years free of charge. With the rooftop bar we lower another threshold by making the roof terrace even more accessible to an even wider audience. We are working with CONTRAST, experts in hospitality and placemaking, to develop our hospitality and catering concept. A first step is the new design of the Scheuten rooftop bar. This will be a contemporary place where people of all ages and cultures feel connected. There we will offer relaxation, fun, music, colorful cocktails, local beers and surprising drinks boards.
Cabillaud
With the opening of the Scheuten rooftop bar, restaurant Cabillaud - which is located next to the rooftop terrace - will definitely get another function. Sjo Delvaux, manager front office & hospitality: 'We want to respond to the increasing demand for spaces for events and meetings. At the same time, we want to serve our cultural guests before and after performances even better, which is why Cabillaud will be given a more flexible interpretation. Maaspoort continues to serve the gourmet with chef's table evenings where leading chefs give guests a look behind the scenes. With this too, we want to continue to appeal to a wider and more diverse audience in addition to our regular guests.'
Future
Thommassen: "I think that with all the changes we have optimally anticipated the future. The new roof terrace definitely contributes to the attractiveness of Venlo city center. We are proud of that! This is how we continue to undertake to make theater, enjoyment and going out a surprising combination.'
